Previous Bespoke Projects
Generation Verified (2022)

Commissioned by Barnet Council, we worked with 10 young people aged 12-18 to create a short film that highlights the challenges faced online, and how this can impact children’s mental health.
The group learnt how to script, act, edit, produce, direct and work together as a team of completely differently experienced young people to create something that will be used to educate other young people for the foreseeable future in Barnet.
The short film also won the Young People’s Involvement in Digital Mental Health Team award for Group of the Year (2022)!
Programme (2020-2021)
From November 2020 – April 2021, three young people aged 16-19 were employed 2 days per week to work on a full organisation audit – who we are, what we do and how we do it – in order to bring fresh youth voices to our work!
The group completed peer-led research with other young people across Barnet reviewing our programmes, projects and services, as well as other core relationships and sex based services and their access to education, and established a list of recommendations that they pitched to our Board of Trustees, to influence our strategy moving forward.
This was a great opportunity to ensure we are representing, reflecting and listening to our young people; placing their voices in the centre of all we do.
You can download their full findings below!(2021)

London Youth funded sport, arts & wellbeing sessions for girls aged 9-14 until September 2021. Including creating and leading a Social Action Project with a £500 budget to go on their idea. The Social Action Project was a ‘Body Positivity’ campaign which included designing empowering t-shirts and gifting care boxes to survivors of abuse and violence.
Taboo Talks (2020)

In 2020 we partnered with Non-Violence Charity and delivered a creative podcast programme for young survivors, which trained them in podcast creation, amplified their voices through their own peer-led podcast series and had a launch event with empowering performances, friends and family.
In light on COVID-19, this project was a great opportunity to come together as a community of young women, reflect, learn and grow!

Too Little, Too Late (2019)

In 2019 we were commission by Barnet Council to lead peer-led research for their Director of Public Health’s Annual Report.
A group of 10 young people designed and ran workshops to over 60 other young people – the full research can be downloaded below.
They also created a powerful short-film, raising awareness of teenage relationship abuse. Completely acted in, scripted and narrated by the group.

within Teenage Relationships (2018)

Youth Realities and a team of volunteer Psychology students produced local, peer-led research that focused on the prominence of abuse young people experience. Our findings were presented in Parliament to the Youth Violence Commission as evidence for their Youth Violence Report, later published in 2020.
We called for better Relationships and Sex Education, adequate training for professionals and funding for community relationship abuse support services.
